Former Velvet Underground Guitarist Doug Yule Undertakes Project Inspired by Ishmael by Daniel Quinn

In 1996, The Velvet Underground joined such luminaries as Pink Floyd and David Bowie in being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With classics such as "Sweet Jane" and "Walk on the Wild Side", their place in the history of rock is secure and they continue to influence countless modern rock bands. A major reason for that success was guitarist Doug Yule, pictured above (far right), next to bandmates including Lou Reed (far left).

Doug left music after becoming disillusioned with the business, but has recently returned to the studio to work on a project inspired by the novel Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, and entitled "The Leaver Sessions". Read about the songs included in the sessions and hear clips of The Leaver Sessions.
